Maurizio Sarri wants Lazio to sign a new regista in the summer and Jordy Clasie has been proposed to the club.
The Biancocelesti are planning to continue strengthening Sarri’s squad in the Italian capital following their work last summer and are fighting hard to secure a Champions League finish, which’ll allow them to spend a little more heavily.
One player who hasn’t exactly shined since his arrival at Lazio is Marcos Antonio, who could be sent away from Rome at the end of the season.
Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24) details how Lazio are searching for a midfielder to replace Marcos Antonio and have been offered Clasie, whose contract expires with AZ in June 2024.
Sarri kept a close eye on the 31-year-old Dutch midfielder during their recent Europa Conference League Round of 16 tie and was impressed with what he saw.
Clasie’s contract situation keeps the price down on a possible deal, making him an extremely accessible option for Lazio.
