Lazio Keeping an Eye on Porto Midfielder Uribe

Lazio are aware that some new midfield reinforcements will be needed in the summer and one player they’ve started following closely is Porto’s Mateus Uribe.

The Biancocelesti are preparing to cash in on star midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic in the summer and could also make some other changes to the department, with players like Marcos Antonio and Toma Basic failing to particularly convince coach Maurizio Sarri.

Lazio are hoping to secure qualification to the Champions League, which would allow them to invest more heavily in the summer, and they’ve started drawing up a list of interesting transfer targets ahead of the summer.

As reported by Radiosei (via La Lazio Siamo Noi), one player that’s just been added to Lazio’s list is Porto midfielder Uribe, who will be a free agent in the summer.

The 32-year-old Colombian is tactically flexible, able to play a number of roles in midfield, and earns less than €2m net per season, making him an accessible option for the Biancocelesti.

Sarri remembers Uribe well from Porto’s two matches against Lazio last year in the Europa League and believes that he may be a good fit for the squad.
