Lazio Interested in Sassuolo’s Pinamonti as Immobile Backup

Lazio are searching for the right player to provide cover for star striker Ciro Immobile and believe Sassuolo’s Andrea Pinamonti could be a strong option.

The Biancocelesti have a clear lack of depth up front following the recent departures of Felipe Caicedo, Joaquin Correa and Vedat Muriqi, forcing Maurizio Sarri to use Felipe Anderson as a false nine when Immobile is unavailable.

Lazio are already planning ahead for the summer transfer window, hoping to secure greater resources with qualification to the Champions League, and have begun identifying interesting ideas.

As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport (via LazioNews24), one of Lazio’s top picks to strengthen their attack in Pinamonti, who joined Sassuolo on a loan deal with a conditional obligation to buy clause from Inter last summer.

The 23-year-old has netted five goals in 25 appearances this season and could add another layer to the Biancocelesti frontline, but there is a clear obstacle.

Pinamonti’s price may prove restrictive for Lazio. Sassuolo will pay Inter €20 million at the end of the season to sign him, meaning the Roman club would have to offer at least €4-5 million more, and the player himself earns around €2.5 million net per season.
