Vecino Reassured After Medical Checks in Barcelona

Good news for Matias Vecino after his medical checks in Spain, which were examining the health of his knee after some recent discomfort.

The 31-year-old Uruguayan midfielder was forced to miss out on the Biancocelesti’s 3-0 win over Spezia on Friday due to some knee problems, which pushed him to miss a number of training sessions.

Vecino flew to Barcelona to undergo some tests on his knee, which was the focus of a serious operation carried out by well-known specialist Professor Ramon Cugat back in 2020.

As reported by Radiosei (via LazioNews24), the results of Vecino’s medical tests confirmed that he was not suffering from any worrying problems, reassuring him and allowing him to start working on his recovery.

Maurizio Sarri is hoping to recover the former Inter midfielder for Lazio’s next game against Torino, wanting to start the 31-year-old due to Danilo Cataldi’s suspension.

Vecino has made 38 appearances across all competitions this season for Lazio, for a total of 1893 minutes. In that time, he’s scored four goals and provided one assist.
