How Long Immobile Could Be Absent Following Traffic Collision

Lazio captain Ciro Immobile sustained concerning injuries after being involved in a car crash with a tram in Rome, forcing him to the sidelines yet again.

The 33-year-old Italian striker was involved in a traffic collision number 19 tram at the junction between Piazza delle Cinque Giornate and Ponte Matteotti, destroying the front of his vehicle.

Immobile initially suggested that he’d simply hurt his arm, but was taken to Agostino Gemelli University Policlinic for a round of precautionary checks, which confirmed that he’d suffered a compound fracture to one of his ribs and ‘distortion of the spinal column’.

As reported by Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24), it’s still unclear how long Immobile will be ruled out of action for Lazio, with conflicting prognoses leaving things uncertain.

The 33-year-old will certainly miss the Biancocelesti’s next two games against Torino and Inter, and could be sidelined for up to a month.

Considering the seriousness of the collision, it’s a relief that Immobile and his family didn’t suffer more serious injuries.
