Lazio talisman Ciro Immobile is aiming to recover in time for the upcoming Serie A clash against Inter, one of the toughest games left for Maurizio Sarri’s side.
The 33-year-old Italian striker suffered a slight spine injury and a fractured rib after crashing his car into a tram in Rome on Sunday morning. Since then, he’s been recovering at the hospital alongside his daughter Michela.
Immobile was visited yesterday by Lazio doctor Fabio Rodia and things were positive, meaning the striker is ready to start resting at home now. He spoke to Maurizio Sarri and several teammates on the phone, reassuring them following the serious incident.
As highlighted by Radiosei (via La Lazio Siamo Noi), Immobile has successfully passed all his medical tests and the spine injury isn’t too concerning, just needing a few days rest to recover from.
The fractured rib will take a little longer, up to a week, but he is not suffering from breathing difficulties due to it, a positive sign.
Immobile will be closely monitored in the coming days and he’s hoping to recover in time for the clash with Inter, scheduled for 30th April.
