Torino coach Ivan Juric highlighted the strengths of Maurizio Sarri’s Lazio ahead of their Serie A clash, calling them a ‘complete team’.
The Biancocelesti are looking to continue their charge to the Champions League with a win over a mid-table Granata. Sarri’s side have been one of the most in-form teams in the league recently, winning seven out of their last eight league outings.
When Lazio faced Torino back in August, they were held to a 0-0 draw by Juric’s side, a result they do not want to repeat at this crucial stage of the season.
Speaking in a press conference (via LazioNews24), Juric first gave his thoughts on Sarri and his style of football.
The matches with Sarri have been good, twice 1-1 conceding goals at the last minute or 0-0. They were hard-fought, we know their quality and players who can decide things at any moment. We can put in another good performance.
They also combine long balls with tight play, they always play the same and it doesn’t take much to score goals, these are the things you see clearly with Lazio.
He then touched on Torino’s motivation ahead of the clash with the Biancocelesti.
Lazio do both phases of the game well, they know how to run and defend deep, they don’t just play. They’re a complete team, as the league table shows.
Lazio are of a very high level, even doing everything perfect it may not go well but we are very motivated.
Lazio sit second in the Serie A table, eight points clear from fifth place Milan. A few more wins could be enough to secure the team’s return to the Champions League, allowing them to spend a little more heavily in the summer transfer window.
