Lazio Fighting With Milan for Empoli Talent Baldanzi

Lazio are seriously interested in making a move for Empoli talent Tommaso Baldanzi but they’ll have to fight off tough competition from Milan.

The Biancocelesti are planning for the departure of star midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic in the summer and know that some reinforcements are needed, with Maurizio Sarri highlighting a number of possible ideas to the club’s management.

One player who has impressed Sarri is Baldanzi, who has scored four goals in 22 league appearances in his first full season in the Empoli first team. The 20-year-old has emerged as one of the hottest prospects in Italian football and Lazio have taken note.

As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport (via LazioNews24), Lazio are now in the running for Baldanzi at the explicit request of Sarri, but will have to fight off competition from the interested Milan, who are considering alternatives to Brahim Diaz and Charles De Ketelaere.

Empoli value the 20-year-old Italian midfielder at around €15-20m, a price that is accessible for the Biancocelesti should they secure qualification to the Champions League.
