Talented winger Luka Romero is expected to leave Lazio on a free transfer when his contract expires in the summer.
The teenager joined the Biancocelesti from RCD Mallorca in the summer of 2021 in a deal worth just €200,000 in compensation, a bargain price for an intriguing and talented prospect.
Lazio have been in talks with Luka Romero and his entourage for months now and have drawn up a new deal for the 18-year-old lasting until 2026. Whilst things initially looked good, a key roadblock has caused negotiations to stall completely.
As detailed by Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24), Lazio will not pay Fali Ramadani – Luka Romero’s agent – the €5 million agent commissions that he’s asked for, something that has caused talks to stall.
As such, the 18-year-old Argentine forward is now expected to leave the club on a free transfer when his contract expires in around two months’ time. This €5 million fee was agreed with Ramadani back in 2021 but Claudio Lotito has no intention of paying it.
