Lazio have reportedly begun keeping a close eye on Feyenoord striker Santiago Gimenez ahead of the summer transfer window.

Maurizio Sarri has made it clear that he wants the club to sign a new striker in the summer to help provide some cover for Ciro Immobile, who has struggled with various injuries throughout this season.

Lazio currently sit second in the Serie A table and securing Champions League qualification will allow them to spend more on reinforcements in the summer, allowing them to take the next step.

As detailed by TUDN and La Gazzetta dello Sport, Lazio are interested in making a move for Gimenez in the summer and are willing to pay around €18m for the Feyenoord striker.

The 22-year-old Argentine-born Mexican striker has scored 20 goals in 41 appearances this season for the Eredivisie outfit, attracting the attention of Milan and Atletico Madrid.

He is contracted to Feyenoord until 2026 and could be a good fit for Sarri’s 4-3-3 system in the Italian capital.
