The race for a Champions League finish is starting to come to a head in Serie A, with Lazio and five other teams all fighting for the three remaining spots.

League leaders Napoli have run away with the Scudetto this season, leaving six teams fighting for the three remaining spots in the top four, all desperate to secure Champions League qualification.

Lazio’s strong form over the last two months has allowed them to climb to second in the Serie A table, giving them a key advantage as the season starts to draw to a close.

Things became more complicated last month after CONI decided to temporarily annul the 15-point penalty handed to Juventus, putting the Old Lady in the thick of the top four race.

Only six points separate second place Lazio from seventh place Atalanta, leaving things tense and open with six matches left to play.

Some teams – namely Milan, Inter, Juventus and Roma – are still involved in European competitions, giving them other concerns in the final stages of this season.
