Lazio Submit Offer for Feyenoord’s Gimenez, Mexican Reports Suggest

Lazio have reportedly sent Feyenoord a serious offer for Mexican striker Santiago Gimenez ahead of the summer transfer window.

The Biancocelesti are clearly in the market for a new centre forward, needing to give Maurizio Sarri an alternative to Ciro Immobile. The recent departures of Felipe Caicedo and Vedat Muriqi have left a gap in the squad, forcing Felipe Anderson to adapt as a false nine when Immobile is absent.

Lazio currently sit second in the Serie A table and are desperately fighting for a spot in the Champions League, something that would give them far more resources to work with in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Reports from Mexico (via LazioNews24) suggest that Lazio have sent Feyenoord an offer worth around €18 million for Gimenez, a striker who is also wanted by Milan and Atletico Madrid.

Contracted to the Eredivisie side until 2026, the 22-year-old Mexican has scored 20 goals and provided three assists in 41 appearances for the club this season.
