Lazio captain Ciro Immobile is expected to apologise to his teammates and coach Maurizio Sarri today after his outburst in the win over Sassuolo.
The 33-year-old Italian striker started the match at the Stadio Olimpico and was taken off by Sarri in the 68th minute, something he did not appreciate. He was visibly furious on the bench, hitting the wall with his cast multiple times whilst shouting his frustration at the decision to take him off.
Things have not been easy for Immobile this season. The talismanic forward has dealt with minor injuries across this campaign and was involved in a car crash last month, an incident that left him with a fractured rib, an arm issue and a minor spine injury.
As reported by Il Messaggero (via LazioNews24), Sarri gave the Lazio squad the day off yesterday, so there was no way for Immobile to apologise following his outburst in the win over Sassuolo.
With the squad carrying out a double session at Formello today, the Biancocelesti captain is set to apologise in front of his teammates and Sarri, clearing the air ahead of their vital clash with Milan.
