Marcos Antonio Is Lazio’s Secret Weapon Against Milan

Injuries to Danilo Cataldi and Matias Vecino have given Marcos Antonio the chance to shine for Lazio and he’s set to play a key role in the clash with Milan.

The 22-year-old Brazilian midfielder joined the Biancocelesti last summer from Shakhtar Donetsk in a deal worth around €9.5 million total, being a low-cost deal due to Russia’s ongoing invasion of Ukraine.

Marcos Antonio has struggled to break into Maurizio Sarri’s Lazio squad this season and didn’t appear for nine consecutive Serie A games before coming off the bench against Spezia last month, when he scored an impressive solo goal.

As highlighted by LazioNews24, Marcos Antonio shined for Lazio in their win over Sassuolo, being impressive both offensively and defensively, providing a beautiful assist for Felipe Anderson’s first goal.

He is now set to start against Milan, being an important inclusion in the squad considering the injuries to Cataldi and Vecino. After a slow debut campaign, Marcos Antonio is now starting to emerge and show why he’s such an exciting option in the middle of the pitch.
