Immobile Rejected Offer From Saudi Arabia to Retire With Lazio

Lazio captain Ciro Immobile turned down a lucrative offer from an unnamed Saudi club in order to close out his career in Rome.

The 33-year-old Italian striker has continued to be the main man in Maurizio Sarri’s Biancocelesti squad this season, even if minor injuries have disrupted his time on the pitch.

He has scored 10 goals and provided three assists in 27 Serie A appearances, playing his part in the team’s fight for a top four finish.

Immobile has only scored once in the last two and a half months for Lazio, working back to full fitness and form after being involved in a car crash last month, which left him with a slight spine injury, a fractured rib and an arm issue.

As detailed by Il Messaggero (via LazioNews24), Immobile has no desire to leave Lazio before the end of his playing career and he rejected a lucrative offer from a Saudi Arabian club in a show of loyalty.

The 33-year-old is contracted to the Roman club until 2026 and could still receive one more contract extension before then.
