Lazio are open to selling Marcos Antonio in the summer and have identified Bologna’s Jerdy Schouten as a possible replacement.
The Brazilian midfielder joined the club from Shakhtar Donetsk last summer in a deal worth around €9.5 million total. His debut season in Rome has been quiet, with Maurizio Sarri unsure about the player’s limited physicality and issues under pressure.
Marcos Antonio has been limited to just 690 minutes of action in 21 appearances across all competitions this season, and recent reports have highlighted how Lazio are willing to immediately cut their losses and sell him this summer.
As reported by La Lazio Siamo Noi, Lazio have started looking around for possible replacements for Marcos Antonio and believe Bologna’s Schouten would be a good fit.
The 26-year-old Dutch midfielder has impressed this season under Thiago Motta and is experienced in Italy, having made 100 appearances in Serie A since his arrival in 2019.
Schouten is expected to cost around €8-9 million and his wages would perfectly fit in the structure at Lazio, making him an interesting and accessible option.
