Stefan Radu is approaching the last four games of his playing career, ready to move into a backroom role with Lazio.
The 36-year-old Romanian defender has hardly featured under Maurizio Sarri this season, seeing just 67 minutes of action in two Europa League appearances.
Despite his lack of usage on the pitch, Radu is an important figure in the dressing room, acting as a leader and mentor for the younger members of the squad, qualities that’ll help him in the near future.
As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport (via LazioNews24), Radu is ready to hang up his boots and retire from playing, but he isn’t planning to leave Lazio.
The 36-year-old will move into coaching and will be given control of one of the club’s youth teams, allowing him to start a new journey.
Radu, who joined the Biancocelesti in July 2008, is the club’s all-time record appearance holder, having played in 426 games for the club.
Ma bucur sa vad ca Radu ramâne in anturajul Lazio, tot respectul 🤍💙👏
