Will Lazio Keep Juventus Loanee Pellegrini?

Luca Pellegrini has been relatively quiet since joining Lazio on loan in January, leading many to question the future of the Juventus loanee.

The 24-year-old Italian ended a loan spell with Eintracht Frankfurt in the winter transfer window in order to sign a six-month deal with the Biancocelesti, which contains a €15 million buy option.

Since his arrival, Pellegrini has featured infrequently under Maurizio Sarri, making just five appearances for Lazio in Serie A, seeing 74 minutes of action.

As reported by Radiosei (via La Lazio Siamo Noi), Sarri would like Lazio to permanently sign Pellegrini in the summer, believing the 24-year-old adds an exciting layer to the team’s attack on the left side of the pitch.

The Biancocelesti have no intention of paying the €15 million buy option, however, and so will work with the player’s agents to try and find an acceptable deal with Juventus. Pellegrini is contracted to the Bianconeri until June 2025.
