Ligue 1 Vies for Luis Alberto as Lazio Work on New Contract

Maurizio Sarri wants Lazio to guarantee the future of Luis Alberto but multiple clubs in France are keen to snap up the Spaniard this summer.

The 30-year-old midfielder initially struggled to see eye to eye with the Italian coach, but things have changed this season and the former Liverpool man is back to his best, playing a crucial role in the Biancocelesti’s fight for a top four finish.

This season, Luis Alberto has scored six goals and provided seven assists in 42 appearances across all competitions, impressing in all areas of the pitch from defensive work and build-up play to quick attacking runs.

As reported by Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24), Sarri does not want to lose Luis Alberto this summer and Lazio are planning to offer the Spaniard a new contract once the season draws to a close.

The 30-year-old has not shown any desire to leave the club recently, but his agent has already started to hear the interest from Ligue 1, with multiple French clubs planning to swoop in for the midfielder in the summer transfer window.
