Pedro Reconsiders Future With Lazio as Contract Expiry Nears

Pedro is starting to reconsider signing a new contract with Lazio as he fears dropping down the hierarchies in Maurizio Sarri’s squad.

The 35-year-old Spanish winger’s current deal expires with the Biancocelesti at the end of next month and it was reported in April that he’d agreed to the terms of a new one-year contract with the club, which would be signed after 30th June due to a clause with Roma.

Ahead of the summer transfer window, Maurizio Sarri has made it clear to Lazio that he expects at least five new players to arrive, including a new winger and centre forward.

As reported by Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24), Pedro is starting to grow unsure regarding his new contract with Lazio, concerned that he may be reduced to a fringe role in Sarri’s squad.

As such, he could decide to leave the club on a free transfer when his current deal expires at the end of next month.

The 2010 World Cup winner has featured regularly this season in the Italian capital, seeing 2302 minutes of action across 44 appearances in all competitions.

  1. With a rational (imho) thinking I can say the untouchable players at this moment in time are Provedel, Casale, Romagnoli, Luis Alberto, Ciro and Matia Zaccagni. Every one of the rest can indeed be sold but I would like Cataldi, Vecino, Luka Romero and SMS 100% to stay.

Let’s see how we will go forward because Sarri probably wants to make sure the tram is complete by the time they get to Auronzo di Cadore.

Everyone to the stadium Sunday 🤍💙

    1. I agree but Luka is going to go and even SMS. As much as I would love SMS to stay I believe he wants a new chapter in his life. That being said with the money we may get (if he doesn’t leave for free) we can use to get depth players. As we have seen in the past Lazio has a good squad but not deep enough to play all those games in all cups and league. FORZA LAZIO🦅🦅🦅
