Napoli Striker Simeone Open to Move to Lazio

Lazio are searching for a new striker and have set their sights on Napoli forward Giovanni Simeone, who is willing to make the move to the Italian capital.

The Biancocelesti’s recent failure to replace Vedat Muriqi and Felipe Caicedo has been a sore point for Maurizio Sarri this season, forcing him to adapt winger Felipe Anderson into a false nine when captain Ciro Immobile is unavailable.

Now that Lazio have secured Champions League football, Sarri and the management have started drawing up plans for an important summer transfer window, and one of the priorities is a new striker.

As reported by Il Messaggero (via La Lazio Siamo Noi), Lazio are following a number of possible options and one of the favourites is Simeone, who played a minor role in Napoli’s Scudetto success this season.

Whilst it won’t be easy to secure the 27-year-old’s signature, he is willing to move to the Biancocelesti, following in the footsteps of his father Diego.

This season, Simeone scored eight goals and provided one assist in 32 appearances across all competitions, only seeing 751 minutes of action.
