Luis Alberto Edges Closer to New Lazio Deal After Latest Meeting

A meeting took place between Lazio president Claudio Lotito and Luis Alberto yesterday, which brought the two parties closer to a new deal.

The 30-year-old Spaniard shined under Maurizio Sarri this season, showing off his usual tricks and magic as he helped the side secure a historic second place finish in Serie A. The midfielder scored six goals and provided seven assists in 35 league appearances.

With Sergej Milinkovic-Savic expected to leave in the coming months, Sarri has made it clear to Lotito that he doesn’t want Lazio to lose Luis Alberto this summer, prompting the president to start negotiating a new deal with the Spaniard’s entourage.

As detailed by Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24), Lotito met with Luis Alberto’s entourage yesterday, where he was informed that the player would like a new deal worth around €3.5 million net per season, extending his contract until June 2027.

Whilst Lotito is wary of the costs of this agreement, he hopes to reach the request with rich and accessible add-ons, keen to satisfy Sarri and retain the talented midfielder.
