Lazio Evaluating Move for Arsenal Midfielder Jorginho

Lazio have started to explore the idea of deal for Arsenal midfielder Jorginho in the summer transfer window, reports suggest.

Biancocelesti coach Maurizio Sarri has made it clear that he expects at least four or five new signings to arrive in the coming months, strengthening his squad and allowing him to compete on multiple fronts with options on the bench.

Lazio secured qualification to the Champions League and this has given them greater resources to work with in the summer. The departure of sporting director Igli Tare also shows how the club are working to satisfy Sarri in the transfer market.

As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport and Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24), Lazio are evaluating a possible move for Jorginho, who left Chelsea for Arsenal in the January transfer window.

Sarri is a huge fan of the 31-year-old midfielder, but his wages aren’t the only thing that concerns president Claudio Lotito.

The club fear that signing Jorginho would hinder the growth of Danilo Cataldi, who has proven himself a key part of the squad in the Italian capital.

  1. Simply no…..his style of play would hinder many movements in midfield, especially if Alberto remains.

    1. What?? He’s literally Sarri’s perfect regista and remains in the 92nd percentile for progressive passers in Europe. Far better than Cataldi.
