Lazio Prioritising Deal for Besiktas’ Gedson Fernandes

Lazio want to strengthen their midfield in the summer and have decided to focus their efforts on Besiktas’ Gedson Fernandes.

The Biancocelesti expect to sell star midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic in the coming months and are aware that both Marcos Antonio and Luis Alberto could end up departing, forcing them to search for adequate replacements.

Maurizio Sarri sat down with president Claudio Lotito at Formello yesterday, where they discussed their transfer market plans and drew up some priorities, with one being a a new midfielder.

As reported by Alfredo Pedulla, Lazio have identified Gedson Fernandes as their top option to strengthen Sarri’s midfield in the summer. Talks have already been opened with Besiktas and an official offer is expected to be presented soon.

Other midfielders the Biancocelesti are following include Piotr Zielinski, should he not renew his contract with Napoli, Galatasaray’s Lucas Torreira and Frosinone’s Daniel Boloca.

Contracted to Besiktas until 2026, Gedson Fernandes scored three goals and provided six assists in 33 Super Lig appearances this season.
