Luis Alberto Demands Significant Raise in New Lazio Deal

Lazio are hoping to tie down Luis Alberto to a new long-term contract but his salary demands could prove problematic.

The 30-year-old Spaniard was a consistently key part of Maurizio Sarri’s squad in the Italian capital this season, continuing to produce moments of magic as he helped the side secure a second place finish in Serie A.

This season, Luis Alberto scored seven goals and provided eight assists in 44 appearances across all competitions, shining after mending his relationship with the Italian coach.

As reported by Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24), Luis Alberto has asked Claudio Lotito to be given the same salary as captain Ciro Immobile in his new Lazio deal – around €4 million net per season plus add-ons.

The Biancocelesti are not keen to offer this and instead have prepared a deal worth around €3.5 million net, lasting until June 2028.

Further talks are needed to try and reach an agreement, with Sarri making it clear that he doesn’t want to lose the Spanish midfielder this summer.
