Mario Gila Keen to Convince Sarri & Lazio

Mario Gila struggled to break into Maurizio Sarri’s squad in his debut Lazio season but he’s not planning on giving up just yet.

The 22-year-old Spanish centre back joined the Biancocelesti last summer from Real Madrid Castilla in a deal worth around €6 million, adding a raw but talented defender to the squad in the Italian capital.

In his first season in Rome, Mario Gila only saw 764 minutes of action in 12 appearances across all competitions, failing to make a single Serie A start under Sarri.

As highlighted by LazioNews24, Mario Gila doesn’t want to give up at Lazio and is keen to convince Sarri to give him more chances in the 2023-24 season.

The Spanish defender is preparing to take part in the upcoming Under-21 European Championship, where he hopes to show his skills and prove to Sarri that he deserves a semi-regular spot in the squad.

Contracted to Lazio until 2027, Mario Gila impressed across his 73 Real Madrid Castilla appearances, showing why the club invested €6 million into him.

  1. Ok
I like his attitude and he clearly has what’s needed to grow. I do not know Sarris stand on this but at some point he must get some playing time if for nothing else for raising his prospect and value if not loaned out. This is something that our “friends” do (willingly or by luck) much better than us across the river.

In terms of quality he surely is close to Patric and if we keep him…we sure look at Gila as at least a future profitable sale and again, he must play for that to increase.

In my opinion he could be what we wanted Vavro to but he must step up at Auronzo before is too late and gets left out because there will surely be more arrivals(not necessarily in his position but you can only take as many players in a year round swuad).

    In Sarri we trust 🤍💙

Ps: Lotito where is our stadium project at ???
