Maurizio Sarri wants to add Napoli midfielder Piotr Zielinski to his Lazio squad and an offer is being prepared, reports suggest.
The Italian coach succeeded in his second season in the Italian capital, guiding the team back to the Champions League. Qualifying for Europe’s premier club competition gives the Roman outfit far more resources to work with in the transfer window.
Sarri met with Lazio president Claudio Lotito last week, where the two discussed their transfer market plans for the coming summer window. One of the key priorities is a new midfielder, replacing the outgoing Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.
As reported by Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24), one of Sarri’s top targets to strengthen the midfield is Zielinski, who only has a year left on his contract with Napoli.
Should he not renew his deal, Lazio would be willing to offer around €20 million for the 29-year-old Polish midfielder, who played a key role in the Partenopei’s Scudetto success this season.
