Lazio are reportedly not planning to activate the buy option attached to Luca Pellegrini’s loan move from Juventus.
The 24-year-old Italian full back joined the Biancocelesti in the January transfer window on a six-month loan deal with a €12 million buy option attached, adding some more depth to the backline and giving Maurizio Sarri’s more options.
Pellegrini initially struggled to settle with Lazio and hardly made an impact during his half-season with the club, seeing just 181 minutes of action across seven Serie A appearances.
As reported by Il Messaggero (via LazioNews24), Claudio Lotito is not willing to pay Juventus €12 million to make Pellegrini’s move to Lazio permanent, but Sarri wants to keep the full back in his squad.
As such, Lazio are considering offering a new loan deal to Juventus, hoping to retain the 24-year-old for another season at least.
Last season in Turin, Pellegrini provided one assist in 18 Serie A appearances, struggling to show his best under Massimiliano Allegri.
