Lazio Contact Napoli to Explore Simeone Deal

Lazio have moved away from Arkadiusz Milik and have decided to open talks with Napoli to discuss a move for Giovanni Simeone.

One of the Biancocelesti’s top priorities for this summer’s transfer window is a new centre forward, something clearly needed following the relatively recent departures of Vedat Muriqi and Felipe Caicedo.

Lazio had identified Milik as a strong option and tried to negotiate a deal for the Pole, but his salary requests and desire to stay with Juventus pushed them to consider other ideas.

As reported by Il Messaggero (via LazioNews24), Lazio president Claudio Lotito spoke to his Napoli counterpart Aurelio De Laurentiis after Silvio Berlusconi’s funeral yesterday, discussing a possible move for Simeone.

The Partenopei paid Hellas Verona around €12 million to keep him in the Campania capital and would want at least €15-20 million to let him go this summer.

Lotito asked for a discount or favourable conditions on a deal, hoping to bring the 27-year-old to the Italian capital in the coming weeks.
