Inter Decide to Pay Up for Lazio Loanee Acerbi

Inter have reportedly decided to pay the agreed upon fee for Lazio loanee Francesco Acerbi, accepting that a discount won’t be offered.

The 35-year-old Italian centre back left the Italian capital for the Nerazzurri last summer on a 12-month loan deal with a €4 million buy option attached. His time with Lazio came to a rather acrimonious end and a departure was the best move for all parties.

Acerbi linked up with Simone Inzaghi at Inter and did well in his debut season at the club, seeing over 3800 minutes of action in 49 matches across all competitions, including the full 90 minutes of the Champions League final.

As reported by La Lazio Siamo Noi, Inter have held talks with Lazio recently to try and secure a discount on Acerbi, but Claudio Lotito made it clear that one would not be offered, so the Nerazzurri have decided to pay the €4 million fee to make his loan move permanent.
