Maurizio Sarri is desperate to see Piotr Zielinski join his Lazio squad and has continued to be in close contact with the Napoli midfielder.
The 29-year-old Pole played a key role in the Partenopei’s historic Scudetto charge this season, appearing in all but one of their Serie A matches as they flew to their third ever league title.
Zielinski’s current contract with Napoli expires in June 2024 and negotiations have been slow, suggesting that a possible departure may be on the horizon for the talented midfielder.
As reported by Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24), Sarri wants to have Zielinski at his disposal for the third time in his career, following on from their experiences together at Empoli and Napoli. The midfielder is one of Lazio’s top targets for the summer transfer window.
Sarri has spoken to the 29-year-old on several occasions to try and convince him to make the move to the Italian capital, and each day that passes without a new deal with Napoli is a positive sign for the Biancocelesti.
