Lazio president Claudio Lotito is reportedly planning to contact Napoli this week to start negotiating a deal for Piotr Zielinski.
The Biancocelesti are hungry to strengthen their midfield this summer, especially with Sergej Milinkovic-Savic ready to leave for a new stage of his career, and one of Maurizio Sarri’s preferred choices is Zielinski, a player he remembers well from their time together at Empoli and Napoli.
Zielinski, who played a key role in Napoli’s charge to the Scudetto this season, only has a year left on his contract with the club and has not agreed to a new deal, with disagreements over his new salary.
Calciomercato.com details how Lazio are willing to pay around €20 million for Zielinski and talks will be started this week, with Lotito ready to start negotiating a deal with his Napoli counterpart Aurelio De Laurentiis.
This season, the 29-year-old Polish midfielder scored three goals and providing nine assists in 37 Serie A appearances.
