What’s Next for Radu at Lazio After Retirement

Stefan Radu has hung up his boots and retired from playing football, but he’ll continue to be a regular figure at Lazio.

The 36-year-old Romanian spent 15 years of his career with the Biancocelesti, joining from FC Dinamo in July 2008 for around €4.75m. He went on to become a fan favourite and talismanic figure in Rome, becoming the club’s all-time record appearance holder.

Radu played 427 games across all competitions for Lazio. Although he’s retired from playing, the 36-year-old has no intention of leaving the Biancocelesti environment any time soon.

As reported by Radiosei (via LazioNews24), Lazio president Claudio Lotito is ready to offer Radu the role of club manager, a job previously held by Angelo Peruzzi.

Before the pre-season training camp in Auronzo di Cadore, Radu will meet with Lotito to discuss their plans for the future. Regardless of the outcome of this meeting, the former defender will join the squad in the idyllic Veneto town.
