14 Players Lazio Want to Cut From the Squad This Summer

Lazio are hoping to rehome at least 14 players in the coming months as they look to trim the redundancies from their squad.

The Biancocelesti did well to qualify for the Champions League this season and are preparing for an important transfer window, keen to add four or five reinforcements to Maurizio Sarri’s squad.

With Lazio endlessly blocked by the now infamous liquidity index, the outgoing transfer market is equally important for the club, who are hoping to start cutting redundancies to make space for the new signings.

As detailed by Il Messaggero (via LazioNews24), Lazio want to rehome at least 14 players this summer. Two have already found new homes, Gonzalo Escalante and Francesco Acerbi, but more work is needed.

Empoli are interested in keeping Jean-Daniel Akpa Akpro, but things have fallen quiet recently. Youngsters Marco Bertini, Romano Floriani Mussolini and Larsson Coulibaly are all hoping to find regular playing time elsewhere.

Dimitrije Kamenovic, Cristiano Lombardi, Alessandro Rossi, Mattia Novella, Andrea Marino and Alessio Furlanetto are all returning from loan spells and will soon be shown the door again in Rome.

Things are more difficult for André Anderson, who spent the season on loan with Sao Paolo, missing months of action due to muscle injuries.

Riza Durmisi and Nicolo Armini will both leave on free transfers after their contracts expire, with neither being renewed.
