Lazio Switch Targets After Juventus Rule Out Rovella Move

Lazio had hoped to make a move for Nicolo Rovella this summer but Juventus’ rejection has pushed them to switch focus to PSV’s Joey Veerman.

The Biancocelesti are preparing for the departure of star midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic this summer, something that’ll force them to pick up one or two reinforcements to give Maurizio Sarri the tools he needs to compete on multiple fronts.

Juventus and Inter are the two clubs most interested in Milinkovic-Savic and both have already sounded out a move, leading to a possible transfer market Derby d’Italia in the coming weeks.

As reported by Gianluca Di Marzio, Lazio had hoped for the inclusion of Rovella in Juventus’ offer for Milinkovic-Savic, but this idea has been snuffed out by the Turin outfit, who don’t want to lose the talented Italian.

As such, the Biancocelesti have started to look around for alternatives and believe PSV’s Veerman could be a good fit for Sarri’s squad.

The 24-year-old Dutchman scored four goals and provided 10 assists in 33 Eredivisie appearances this season.
