Pellegrini Returns to Juventus but Lazio Will Work for New Deal

Luca Pellegrini will return to Juventus now that his buy option has expired but Lazio are keen to set up a new deal for the full back.

The 24-year-old joined the Biancocelesti in January on a six-month loan deal with a €15 million buy option attached, adding an interesting option to Maurizio Sarri’s squad. The coach wanted more flexibility in the role and believed Pellegrini would be a good fit.

Pellegrini ultimately struggled to see consistent minutes with Lazio this season but the deal wasn’t costly for the club, who only spent €20,000 due to the fact that Juventus paid the entirety of his wages.

As reported by Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24), Pellegrini will now return to Juventus and Lazio will try to set up a new loan deal for him, unless the Bianconeri agree to a discount on the previously agreed €15 million fee.

The 24-year-old had agreed to a four-year contract worth €2.5 million net per season with Lazio, so the club can now calmly work on finding the right formula with the Old Lady.

  1. If they don’t give the discount, make another loan and add clause that if we reach CL next season again the buy option becomes obligation.

    Win win for both clubs.
