Lazio president Claudio Lotito was present at the wedding of Mattia Zaccagni, making a promise to the star winger.
The 28-year-old was one of the stars of the show in Maurizio Sarri’s squad this season, scoring 10 goals and providing seven assists across 35 Serie A appearances, helping the team secure Champions League qualification.
Zaccagni is growing into a talismanic figure for Lazio and seems a perfect fit for Sarri’s system, pushing the club to start drawing up a new contract for the winger.
Gianluca Di Marzio details how Lotito was one of the guests at Zaccagni’s wedding with partner Chiara Nasti, where he promised the 28-year-old a new long-term contract.
The Italian winger’s current deal expires with the club in 2025 and this will be extended in his new contract, which’ll also include a raise reflective of his importance to the club.
Corriere dello Sport recently reported that Zaccagni was hoping to earn around €3 million net per season in his new deal.
He definitely deserves it for how he played but he need to keep improving .
I think he faded a bit towards the end and there could be multiple reasons. Defenders and coaches are getting to know how strong he is so they defend better . Mattia is the kost fouled player if I’m not mistaken and I would personally like him to go down less and take more shots or the ball in before the fould comes. We do not take enough shots from outside the box and Sarri mentioned this in the past.
What he needs to do is improve on the timing of his decision or rather be quicker. The team gelling more Nd more will help with this and a Ciro who is injury free does too.
I starded to think that Raspadori would actually suit Ciros position in our team much better but we don’t afford to bring him in the same squad, do we ? I watched him against the Nederlands and he has such movement and tehnique with a flow that is artistic and keeps/releases the ball with perfect timing(seriously underrated).
It’ll be a long summer.
