Lazio president Claudio Lotito has reportedly started to sound out a possible move for Santos striker Marcos Leonardo.

The Biancocelesti are in the market for a new centre forward, wanting to add some depth to the frontline and give Ciro Immobile some backup, and had their sights set on Arkadiusz Milik before Juventus decided to retain the Pole.

Lazio are now looking around for the right player for Maurizio Sarri’s system and have a long list of possible ideas, with some proving more intriguing than others.

As highlighted by La Lazio Siamo Noi, Lotito met with super-agent Rafaela Pimenta recently to discuss various players – like clients Alessio Romagnoli and Luca Pellegrini – and during this meeting he requested information about Marcos Leonardo.

Santos want around €10-12 million for the 20-year-old striker, who has a €40 million release clause in his contract.

Lotito will meet with Sarri in the coming days to discuss Marcos Leonardo and the other summer transfer targets, and things could progress should the Italian coach give the green light to a move.
