Lazio are searching far and wide for the right reinforcements for Maurizio Sarri’s squad and have added Lecce’s Morten Hjulmand to their list.
The Italian tactician expects four or five new players to arrive in the coming months to add depth to the squad and allow him to focus on multiple competitions, something that wasn’t possible this season due to the lack of options on the bench.
Lazio still have to work within their budget, so certain options are out of reach due to their wages or the costs of the overall deal. As such, no ideas are being ruled out for the time being.
As reported by La Lazio Siamo Noi, Lazio have now started considering a move for Hjulmand this summer, impressed with his development at Lecce, where he’s now captain.
The 23-year-old has also attracted the attention of Milan and Fiorentina. The Puglian outfit don’t want to sell, so it would take around €20 million to secure his signature.
This season, Hjulmand provided five assists in 3084 minutes of action across 36 appearances in all competitions.
