Lazio want to retain Luca Pellegrini for another season, so will contact Juventus to discuss a new loan deal.
The 24-year-old Italian joined the Biancocelesti in the summer transfer window on a six-month loan deal with a €15 million buy option attached, adding some depth to Maurizio Sarri’s backline.
Pellegrini struggled to show his best during his first half-season with Lazio, seeing just 174 minutes of action across seven Serie A appearances for Lazio. Despite this, the club are hoping to keep him in the squad for another year.
Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24) details how Claudio Lotito will contact Juventus in the coming days to try and set up a new loan deal for Pellegrini, with the club not interested in activating the buy option.
A conditional obligation to buy clause could be attached to the new deal. Lazio may also ask for a discount on his €2.5 million net per season salary.
