Lazio have moved away from Jorginho and are now considering making a move for Galatasaray midfielder Lucas Torreira.
The Biancocelesti want to add some depth to their midfield and had set their sights on Jorginho, who left Chelsea for Arsenal in the January transfer window. It soon became apparent, however, that the Italian-Brazilian did not want to leave North London, pushing the Biancocelesti elsewhere.
Maurizio Sarri wants four or five new reinforcements to arrive this summer to allow Lazio to compete on multiple fronts, keen to put on a good show in the Champions League.
As reported by Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24), Lazio’s first alternative to Jorginho is Galatasaray’s Torreira, a player who has already shown his skills in Serie A in the past.
The 27-year-old midfielder has an accessible price tag, only costing around €10 million. Lazio may make a move in the coming weeks.
This season, Torreira saw over 2500 minutes of action in 34 appearances across all competitions for Galatasaray.
