Lazio have reportedly submitted an official offer for Santos talent Marcos Leonardo, just a week before the summer transfer window opens.
The Biancocelesti are in the market for a new centre forward, keen to add some more depth to the frontline following the relatively recent departures of Vedat Muriqi and Felipe Caicedo. Maurizio Sarri was often forced to adapt a winger to the false nine role when Ciro Immobile was absent.
Lazio have been following Marcos Leonardo for a little while now and were impressed with his work at the Under-20 World Cup, where he scored five goals in five games.
As reported by Gianluca Di Marzio, Lazio have sent in an offer to Santos for Marcos Leonardo worth around €10 million, close to the Brazilian side’s €12-13m price tag.
It’s a positive step forward for the Biancocelesti, who could now look to try and find an agreement for the 20-year-old striker ahead of the transfer window’s opening next week.
