Lazio have prepared a new contract for Luis Alberto but have not taken any steps yet as they start to have doubts about the deal.
Maurizio Sarri has made it clear that he doesn’t want to lose the 30-year-old Spaniard this summer, pushing the club to action when a lucrative offer emerged from Saudi Arabia that threatened to steal the midfielder.
Luis Alberto was offered a four-year contract worth €8 million net per season, figures that Lazio could not match. He currently earns around €2.8 million net and has two years left on his deal.
As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport (via LazioNews24), Lazio have not made a concrete approach to Luis Alberto yet despite offering him a new four-year contract worth around €4 million net per season plus add-ons.
The club are starting to question the idea of offering such a lucrative contract to a player who will turn 31 in September. If offers of around €20 million arrive this summer, a sale could occur.
Ok, I will ignore all the talk about the Magician not to get drowned into any discussion.
If Sarri wants him to stay though Lotito might need to bend.
