Lazio have decided to focus their efforts on Galatasaray midfielder Lucas Torreira and have set up a meeting with his agent.
Maurizio Sarri expects four or five new players to arrive this summer to help strengthen his squad and give him more options on the bench, allowing him to compete on multiple fronts.
One area of the pitch that clearly need strengthening is the midfield, with Lazio hoping to cash in on Sergej Milinkovic-Savic in the coming months. A number of options have been highlighted, but one in particular has caught Sarri’s eye.
Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24) details how Torreira has emerged as Lazio’s primary target for the midfield, and they’ve been given a helping hand by Leonardo Paredes’ imminent move to Galatasaray, freeing up the Uruguayan.
The 27-year-old would like a five-year deal worth around €2.5 million net per season, but Lazio want to start negotiations on the basis of a loan deal with a buy option attached, only considering a definitive purchase if his price tag was €10m or less.
The club will meet with his agent Pablo Bentancur this week to start discussing a possible move this summer.
