Pablo Bentancur, the agent of Lazio target Lucas Torreira, confirmed the details of the offer for the Galatasaray midfielder.
The 27-year-old Uruguayan is one of Maurizio Sarri’s top picks to strengthen the squad this summer, believing he’d be a perfect fit for the three-man midfield. The club are keen to add some depth to the squad in order to allow them to compete on multiple fronts.
Torreira impressed with Galatasaray this season, seeing over 2400 minutes of action in the Super Lig as he helped the team win their first league title in four years. Now, a return to Serie A could be on the cards for the midfielder.
Speaking to journalist Ayhan Şensoy (via LazioNews24), Bentancur discussed the details of Lazio’s offer for Torreira.
I will meet the Galatasaray management on Friday. Lazio’s offer is €12 million. Lucas Torreira is happy here, but he has always been interested in the Italian league. If the conditions are favourable, he could go to Lazio.
Torreira has a wealth of experience in Serie A, having played for Sampdoria and Fiorentina in the past. Galatasaray are not expected to accept this offer, hoping to receive a fee in the region of €15-20m.
