Lazio Continue Berardi Talks as Juventus Emerge

Lazio are reportedly still in close contact with Domenico Berardi but are now facing competition from Juventus.

The 28-year-old Italian has been identified by Maurizio Sarri as his top pick to strengthen the attack this summer, but negotiations with Sassuolo have not gone well.

Lazio are willing to pay around €20 million for Berardi but the Neroverdi are hoping for least €30 million, a position that has caused negotiations to stall.

As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport and Il Messaggero (via LazioNews24), Lazio are still keen to make a move for Berardi and are still in close contact with his entourage, but it’ll be hard to find an agreement with Sassuolo.

Things have grown more complicated now that Juventus have emerged to set their sights on the 28-year-old. The Old Lady are looking for a replacement for Angel Di Maria, who left on a free transfer yesterday.

Lazio have already started to switch focus away from Berardi and have submitted an offer to Bologna for Riccardo Orsolini, who would be far cheaper than his Neroverdi counterpart.
