Luka Romero Bids Farewell to Lazio: ‘It Was an Honour’

Luka Romero has now left Lazio after the expiration of his contract, saying goodbye to the club on his social media outlets.

The 18-year-old Argentine talent had seemingly agreed to the terms of a new deal with the Biancocelesti but talks collapsed after his agent Fali Ramadani held firm on a €5 million commission fee.

Luka Romero was one of Lazio’s most exciting young players and he’s now expected to join up with Milan, where he’ll sign a four-year contract.

Writing on his Instagram page, Luka Romero thanked Lazio for his two years at the club and said goodbye to the fans.

I want to thank the club, their fans who have always shown me esteem and affection and all those who have helped me grow as a professional and as a person, both on and off the pitch.

Thank you Lazio, it was an honour to wear this shirt.

Luka Romero joined Lazio in July 2021 from RCD Mallorca in a deal costing just €200,000. He was instantly included in Maurizio Sarri’s first team set-up, training regularly with the squad, and began to make a handful of appearances.

The 18-year-old played 21 games for Lazio during his two years at the club, scoring the winning goal in a 1-0 victory over Monza last season.
