Lazio are reportedly closing in on a deal for Santos striker Marcos Leonardo after a fresh round of talks.
The 20-year-old Brazilian striker is the Biancocelesti’s primary target to strengthen their frontline this summer, with the club needing to pick up a new backup striker.
Marcos Leonardo attracted the attention of Lazio and other European clubs after impressing at the Under-20 World Cup, where he netted five goals in five appearances for Brazil.
As detailed by La Gazzetta dello Sport (via LazioNews24), Lazio have offered Santos around €12 million plus a future resale clause set at 15-20% for Marcos Leonardo, slightly below their price tag.
The Brazilian side wanted €15 million plus a future resale clause of around 30%, but their delicate financial position means that they’re likely to accept the Biancocelesti’s offer.
Lazio have already reached a verbal agreement with Marcos Leonardo’s agent Rafaela Pimenta, so a move could be completed in the coming days.
