Lazio May Switch Focus From Torreira to Maxime Lopez

Lazio have reportedly reignited their interest in Sassuolo talent Maxime Lopez in their quest to strengthen the midfield.

The Biancocelesti have considered a number of targets to bolster Maurizio Sarri’s squad, but many ideas like Besiktas’ Gedson Fernandes and PSG’s Leandro Paredes have fallen by the wayside.

The latest midfield target for Lazio was Galatasaray’s Lucas Torreira, but talks have seemingly hit a standstill and a move is now starting to look unlikely.

As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport (via LazioNews24), Lazio have started to start considering a move for Maxime Lopez this summer, a player they’ve already targeted in the past.

The 25-year-old would seemingly be a great fit for Sarri’s system in Rome, but Sassuolo want around €20 million for the French midfielder, which could prove problematic.

Last season, Maxime Lopez saw 2340 minutes of action in 31 appearances across all competitions for the Neroverdi, impressing as a defensive midfielder.

  1. Personally not a fan of Maxime at all. Rather keep Marcos Antonio.

‼️‼️‼️‼️Lotito, is our new stadium project any closer to a start or at least did we make any progress since you have a seat in the Senate?‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️ Someone should put this question to him every day till we get a reply.
