Official: Inter Sign Acerbi From Lazio in Definitive Deal

Inter have officially the announced the signing of Francesco Acerbi from Lazio in a permanent transfer.

The 35-year-old Italian centre back left the Biancocelesti in a rather acrimonious fashion when he followed Simone Inzaghi to the Lombardy capital last summer on loan.

The relationship between Acerbi and the Lazio fans massively deteriorated over the 2021-22 season, making a move the best solution for all involved parties.

As announced yesterday, Inter have now signed Acerbi in a definitive transfer, paying Lazio around €4 million for the veteran centre back. He has signed a two-year contract with the club.

The 35-year-old Italian featured regularly under Inzaghi last season, seeing over 3800 minutes of action across 49 total appearances, including the full 90 minutes of the Champions League final loss to Manchester City.

Considering his age, Acerbi will likely close out his playing career with Inter, so he’ll be hoping to try and fight for a Scudetto in the coming campaigns.
